Hey girl … we have some bad news for you. Hope you’re sitting down, because Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes secretly tied the knot.

Oh yes, the couple is married!

The actor and his love of more than five years quietly exchanged vows – earlier this year – among a small group of family and friends.

So quiet was the affair that no one knew about it until recently, when celeb news magazine Us reported the event in its latest issue.

Pretty typical for these two.

“Eva and Ryan have always felt like a married couple,” says a source close to Mendes. “They are infatuated with each other.”

Like the tabloids “calling” Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce, gossip publications have been marrying these two off for some time.

Even a stopped clock is correct twice a day, as they say, and this is most definitely your big week if you’re a celebrity news magazine.

Gosling, 35, and Mendes, 42, both starred in the 2012 drama, The Place Beyond the Pines, and have always been a private couple.

It’s a rare feat to find out anything about the two personally, even regarding life events such as engagements, marriages, and births.

Earlier this month, Gosling did admit that when he’s away working, his mind keeps drifting back home to his girls – all three of them.

“I’m a lucky man,” he gushed, regarding Eva and daughters Esmeralda, 2, and Amada, 4 months, at the Toronto International Film Festival.

“We couldn’t be happier. They are so sweet.”

Ryan and Eva welcomed their second child earlier this year, and like their first baby, they did so with remarkably little fanfare.

Gosling is very protective of his ladies – not just in the sense of privacy from the public eye, but in ways any parents can relate to.

He revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show:

“I take my little girl to the park, and we always write her name in chalk, and some kid has been erasing her name and writing their name over it.”

“And this kid has access to an unfair amount of chalk. My little girl doesn’t care; she’s like, ‘Well, let’s just chalk anywhere else.'”

“And I’m like, ‘No! They’re disrespecting your mother because she gave you this name, and they’re erasing it,” he recalls.

“So the only way to really get back at them is to erase their name. And not disrespect their mother, but definitely put her on notice.'”

Well, no disrespect to your significant others, ladies, but please be on notice that one of Hollywood’s finest is officially off the market.

Try not to weep openly at school or work.
