Earlier this week, we reported that Emile Hirsch was being investigated for assault following an incident the Sundance festival involving an unnamed female film executive.

Today, the New York Post has more details about the incident, including the identity of the woman and eye witness accounts of how it all went down.

The Post claims the woman is Dani Bernfeld, a high-ranking exec at Paramount who recently appeared on the Hollywood Reporter’s list of top entertainment professionals under 35.

Witnesses who were at Tao nightclub club when the confrontation occurred say that Hirsch was unquestionably the aggressor:

"Emile was aggressively picking on Dani," says one onlooker. "He got even more aggressive and aggro. He pushed Dani up against a table and then put her in a headlock."

"He attacked her from behind," says another witness. "He completely blindsided her after he’d been talking sh-t and had already been led away from her more than once."

There’s no word on what, if anything, sparked the assault, but witnesses say Hirsch had been drinking heavily n the night in question.

Obviously, assaulting a woman is unacceptable under any circumstances, but the fact that the woman Hirsch (allegedly) chose to victimize is a big-time Hollywood power player could mean that we won’t be seeing Emile on the big screen again for a long time.
