Netflix just made subscribers start counting down the days until July.

And not just because it’s still snowing in many parts of the country.

The mammoth streaming service released the first trailer for Stranger Things Season 3 on Wednesday, March 20, giving fans their initial look at the monsters, drama and general 1980s nostalgia to come.

The preview is nearly three minutes in length and it takes us to the town of Hawkins in the year 1985.

Because Season 2 took place around Halloween in 1984, it looks like we’ll be in for a bit of a time jump when the beloved series returns, dropping viewers into the heyday of Motley Crue, bold neon prints and just so many hair scrunchies.

The teaser opens with the track "Home Sweet Home" by the aforementioned hard rock band, prior to giving us a glance at an Independence Day and the many supernatural forces at work in this fictional hamlet.

"We’re not kids anymore," says Mike at one point.

He’s now in a relationship with Eleven, while the same can be said for Lucas and Max.

There are also idyllic scenes of the teenager goofing around at the mall, flirting at a swimming pool and dancing to music in their bedroom.

Everything sounds like rainbows and unicorns, right? As if nothing could possibly go wrong, right?

HA! Yeah, right.

Will is very clearly still dealing with some unresolved issues from his connection to the Upside Down, and the gang will need to deal with yet another monster on the prowl in the area.

"I mean, what did you think, we’re just gonna sit in my basement all day and play games for the rest of our lives?" Mike asks in the trailer.

The preview depicts menacing gunman… a giant, insect-like beast… and numerous characters looking freaked out by something happening offscreen.

Meanwhile, Winona Ryder (Joyce), David Harbour (Chief Hopper), Natalia Dyer (Nancy), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan), Dacre Montgomery (Billy) and Joe Keery (Steve) are all set to return for Season 3.

The show dropped in 2016 and almost immediately became one of Netflix’s most popular programs.

The series has garnered 30 Emmy nominations and won six, including outstanding casting for a drama series and outstanding sound editing.

Stranger Things Season 3 comes out on July 4, 2019. Check out the trailer now!
