Yesterday, news that June Shannon is dating a convicted child molester stunned fans of the TLC reality series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

Today, the axe has reportedly fallen on the once-popular series.

Shannon and Sugar Bear Thompson broke up over the summer, and Shannon reportedly reconciled with ex-boyfriend Mark McDaniel shortly thereafter.

McDaniel, it was recently revealed, was released from prison in March of this year after serving a ten-year sentence for aggravated child molestation.

Shannon and McDaniel were in a serious relationship at the time of his arrest. Sources say McDaniel’s 8-year-old victim was a relative of Shannon’s.

Yesterday, a TLC spokesperson said the future of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was in question in light of the revelation about June’s relationship with McDaniel.

Today, the network confirmed to TMZ that it will not be back for another season.

“Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority,” said a spokesman. “TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being.”

Sources say that the network has promised to pay for tutors and counseling for Honey Boo Boo and her siblings in the aftermath of this bombshell.

June’s 14-year-old daughter Lauryn claimed Thursday that Shannon broke up with McDaniel before he went to prison and hasn’t spoken with him since.

Industry insiders believe, however, that TLC wouldn’t taken such a drastic step and nixed the series so quickly unless they had evidence to the contrary.
