By her own admission, Miley Cyrus takes two things very often:

  1. Drugs.
  2. Selfies on Instagram.

Which of these two habits does the singer find more dangerous? She offered up that surprising answer when she sat down for Yahoo!’s “Sunday Night” chat this week.

“Do you know what hurts your brain? Googling yourself. You know what hurts your brain? Instagram,” Miley, whose affection for marijuana is well known, said.

Cyrus went on to say that Facebook is also bad for young women, using sister Noah Cyrus as an example why.

“I have a 14-year-old sister and I go through her comments and people are calling her a slut, and that’s a 14-year-old. So I think that’s hurting your brain.”

Miley admits that she puts pictures online of herself smoking weed because she was “brought up in a way that we never thought marijuana was bad.” HOWEVER…

“I don’t promote it in my songs or say it, it’s not like I’m sitting around telling a bunch of kids to do a bunch of drugs.”

That’s not exactly true.

But Miley still makes a pretty good point: marijuana has never caused a teenager to develop an eating disorder. It’s never crushed her self-esteem.

The same certainly can’t be said for Internet comments. They’re far more dangerous than you realize, people.
