As previously depicted, Carli Lloyd scored an amazing goal in the first half of Sunday’s Women’s World Cup final, helping the United States to a 5-2 win over Japan.

But while Lloyd recorded a hat trick and was the game’s big star, veteran Abby Wambach probably breathed the biggest sigh of relief after the final whistle blew.

A three-time Gold Medalist, Wambach had never captured the World Cup trophy before 2015… and she reacted to the victory with cheers, tears and a kiss for wife Sarah Huffman.

In light of the Supreme Court recently ruling in favor of gay marriage across the nation, this was an especially moving and relevant moment between spouses.
