K.J. Apa has bid farewell to his on-screen father.

The young actor portrayed Archie on The CW’s Riverdale, which means he had the good fortune of acting opposite Luke Perry for about three years.

The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star has appeared on this beloved drama as Fred Andrews, Archie’s dad, since the first day of filming.

And now, in the wake of Perry’s sudden and shocking death on Monday, Apa has shared a very short, simple and heartfelt tribute to the lat 52-year old.

"Rest in love bro," Apa wrote as a caption late Thursday, sharing this sweet sentiment alongside a photo of Perry – looking relaxed and happy – on a boat.

Riverdale star Skeet Ulrich, who portrayed F.P. Jones, wrote, “Never forgotten… always with us,” in the comments section of Apa’s post.

Moreover, costars Mark Consuelos, Jordan Connor, Casey Cott and Marisol Nichols all commented with multiple red heart emojis in this same section.

As you very likely know by now, Perry died on March 4, five days after suffering a massive stroke that left in in a coma.

Multiple outlets have reported since that he never regained consciousness, eventually passing away in the hospital while surrounded by his loved ones.

In the few days that have passed since this tragedy, those who knew Perry well have expressed their sorrow on social media and in various interviews.

“He’s so kind,” Hayley Law told Us Weekly last night, expounding more detail:

“I’ve never met anyone who’s so positive and could turn any negative thought or situation into a beautiful one, and he’s always been so supportive of everyone in the cast and every day – honestly, like, I know it sounds cheesy to be like ‘every day,’ but literally every day – seeing him, and giving him a hug, and him asking how you’re doing and genuinely caring.

"You know, like, ‘How are you doing?’

"If you’re like, ‘Good,’ he’d be like, ‘Are you good? What’s going on?’ And like, ‘What’s going on with your family, and how’s your family?’”

This really has seemed to be a constant theme from everyone close to Perry.

He was a legitimately caring, unique and all-around great guy.

Did you read this amazing story about him from Colin Hanks?

The first episode of Riverdale since Perry’s passing aired this past Wednesday.

It featured a tribute to the actor via a black screen that read, “In Memoriam Luke Perry 1966-2019” at the conclusion of the hour.

And while past and present colleagues continue to mourn the star, we wanted to take note of Jason Priestley’s recent message.

Having starred for years across from Perry on Beverly Hills, 90210, he wrote the following this week on Instagram:

It’s taken me a couple of days to figure out how to write this… My dear friend of 29 years, Luke Perry, was one of those truly special people who really cared…

Luke was not only a star, he was an incredibly bright light that was extinguished far too soon… and that is why I, and so many others, are in so much pain today…

If you had the good fortune to know Luke, or to have ever crossed his path, I know you are sad today as well… the candle that burns twice as bright only burns for half as long… you burned oh, so brightly Luke…

Goodnight Sweet Prince.
