At the start of Week Three of The Four, Candice Boyd, Cheyenne Elliott, Zhavia and Jason Warrior returned to the stage to defend their seat to get to the end and win the title of champion.
However, the competitors stepped it up a few notches, and proved they were there to win but did it come at the expense of all four seats?
Let’s round up the performances.
Rell Jerv
“I’m hip-hop all the way,” Jerv admitted to the panelists as soon as he walked on the stage with one of the biggest egos yet. The panelists were impressed with his rendition of "Pools."
He advanced, and got to challenge one of the seats of power, and went with Elliot. Elliot went with a performance of "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus, and it was a solid performance that may actually have been better than the original.
In the end, the viewers voted Jerv into power and Elliot was sent packing.
Sean Cavaliere
Sean performed "Stitches" by Shawn Mendes, and the whole thing sounded too close to the original, and the judges collectively agreed that.
“I don’t feel like he’s better than the four,” DJ Khaled admitted as the judges decided to send him home.
Jefferson Clay
Jefferson went with "Better Man" by James Morrison. It was an excellent performance, and the judges were ecstatic to send him through to the next stage. He challenged Warrior.
Warrior went with "Love On The Brain" by Rihanna. It was yet another solid performance from him, and he later took offense to Clay who said he wasn’t an artist.
“Where I’m from, we work hard,” Warrior said with a grin. Warrior was voted to keep his seat in the competition, so Clay got what he deserved: Sent home.
Nicole Boggs
Nicole sang "Like I’m Gonna Lose You," by Meghan Trainor. In an awkward move, Nicole’s rendition was better than the one Trainor released, and she was voted through.
She battled it out with Zhavia.Zhavia went with "Killing Me Softly," and it was a mediocre performance. It proved that maybe The Four are not all that great.
Despite this, the viewers allowed Zhavia to stay in the competition.
Tim Johnson Jr.
Tim belted out to "Let’s Stay Together" by Al Green. Given his track record of playing Young Simba in The Lion King in Las Vegas, it was a successful performance.
He was given the opportunity to challenge Boyd. Boyd performed "Here" by Alessia Cara, and it was an invigorating rendition. Everything about it was great, but the viewers voted for Tim to unseat Boyd.
