Wendy Williams is doing her best to use her personal struggles for the public good.

And even the talk show host’s harshest critics must give her some props for this.

Yes, that includes those here at The Hollywood Gossip.

The embattled celebrity is dealing with personal crises on multiple fronts at the moment, as she faces the fallout from a recent relapse, along with the heartbreak of her husband almost definitely cheating on her…

… and even welcoming a child just two weeks ago with his mitsress.

To Wendy’s credit, she has not shied away from discussing either her substance abuse issues or ongoing problems within her marriage, but here is where things get sort of tricky and awkward:

The two worlds collide when it comes to The Hunter Foundation and T.R.U.S.T.

Williams and her awful husband, Kevin Hunter, started this organization in order to assist those in need; those who have also struggled with a dependency on drugs or alcohol.

And, in a new public service announcement, Williams uses her own history to try and inspire others in similar situations.

“Hi, I’m Wendy Williams Hunter,” she begins the PSA.

“My organization, The Hunter Foundation, recently launched a nationwide hotline to offer treatment resources for you if you are a drug addict or substance abuser. 1-888-5HUNTER."

She continues:

“The calls are being answered by specially-trained, certified recovery coaches. They’re very smart. They conduct screenings to determine your needs. The substance abuse will be taken care of.”

Since the hotline launched on March 11, it has received 10,000 inbound calls.

Again, say what you want about how Williams was trashes stars left and right on her daily program, but this is an impressive effort.

“We will provide you with referrals for long- or short-term treatment at facilities all around the world: detox, rehab, sober living and outpatient centers everywhere, nationwide," adds Williams, prior to citing herself as an example:

"If you’re an addict or a substance abuser, don’t be ashamed — help is here for you or a family member or a loved one. Call. Don’t be ashamed, there is hope. I’m living proof."

Williams previously opened up about her history of cocaine use when informing her audience that she now resides in a sober living facility, as you can see here:

Last week, Williams was reportedly hospitalized.

According to the Daily Mail, she was found very inebriated after checking herself out of the sober living house and was taken to a hospital to sober up.

She then took a week off hosting and is set to return to the air very shortly.
