Due to a personal crisis, Britney Spears has been forced to put her professional life on hold.

The beloved pop star informed her social media followers on Friday that she must place her scheduled tour on hiatus due to the condition of her father, Jamie.

“I don’t even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say,” said Britney as a caption to the throwback photo above of herself and her parents.

She continued:

“I will not be performing my new show Domination. I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart.

However, it’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make.

"A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him."

Jamie Spears, sources have confirmed, suffered a rupture colon a little while back.

Concluded Spears in her message:

I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time. I hope you all can understand. More information on ticket refunds is available on britneyspears.com.

I appreciate your prayers and support for my family during this time. Thank you, and love you all… always.

The artist also pointed folks to her official website, britneyspears.com for more information.

Additionally, “Refunds are available at original point of purchase,” reads a statement from the singer “For more information please contact Ticketmaster customer service at 800-745-3000."

Following his daughter’s breakdown back in 2008, Jamie has been her conservator.

He has been in charge of her finances and has played a major role in her life for a decade now; not counting actually raising her and everything as well, of course.

According to this statement, he "28 days in the hospital" after his colon ruptured "under the care of the amazing doctors, nurses and staff at the hospital, [which] the Spears family credits with saving his life.

"After a long, complicated post-operative period, he is recuperating at home and gaining strength, and is expected to make a full recovery."

We’re so glad to read that last part at least.

Jamie also has children Bryan Spears, 41, and Jamie Lynn Spears, 27, with Britney’s mom, Lynne.

The couple divorced in 2002 after nearly three decades of marriage, but reconciled in 2010.

Following her wildly successful Vegas show, Britney: Piece of Me, over the summer, Britney was planning a return to the stage with Domination.

The superstar’s first Sin City residency grossed over $100 million in ticket sales as of January 2017 and has been seen by over 700,000 fans. She’s still got it, that’s for sure.

We’ll now keep her dad and her family in our thoughts.
