Late this spring, it was reported that NeNe Leakes was refusing to film with Kenya Moore.
Now, she’s confirming that the two of them don’t appear in many scenes together — but only because they’re not friends.
She also claims that Cynthia Bailey never did squat to mend their fences, despite her claims to the contrary.
Cynthia Bailey says that she did what she could to mend the tattered relationship between NeNe Leakes and Kenya Moore.
"I tried. I tried. You’ll see in the season," Cynthia recently told Us Weekly.
She claimed: "I tried to connect those two, and let’s just say it was not a love connect"
"And I am out of the matchmaking business," Cynthia declared. "I’m done."
"Cynthia has never tried to get me and Kenya back to together," NeNe now tells Us Weekly.
"She’s always tried to get Kenya back with other people," she acknowledges.
"But where I was concerned," NeNe claims. "She’s never tried to get us together."
"For whatever reason," she says. "I don’t know why that is."
"“I think Kenya’s great for the show," NeNe says, admitting that she’s not too upset about one of her enemies returning.
‘So I didn’t feel any kind of way other than, look, I’m here on the show,” she expresses.
“I’ve been on the show for many years," NeNe acknowledges.
"And," she adds. "I want the show to stay around for the next 10 or 15 years."
Despite the obvious benefits of putting two rivals in the same room to hash it out, she says that she didn’t film much with Kenya.
"I wasn’t around her that often," NeNe reveals. "You know, only when there were group scenes.”
“Only when there were all cast scenes I was on," she explains. "That’s when I was around her."
"Obviously we’re not friends," NeNe emphasizes. "So we’re not around each other like that."
NeNe says that Kandi Burruss, Eva Marcille, Marlo Hampton, and Tanya Sam are her closest friends — but that she doesn’t need backup in a fight.
"I’m a strong woman and I can stand alone and I can fight all my battles by myself," NeNe asserts.
She explains: "I don’t need anyone to have my back, I got my back by myself."
Years and years of reality TV footage will more or less back up that claim. NeNe is a one-woman wrecking crew.
“But Marlo is definitely a cool person with me," NeNe assesses.
"I feel like she will have my back when she needs to have my back," she expresses.
NeNe adds: "When every one of these girls around me know that I’m a strong person and I don’t need anybody to have my back."
‘And yeah," she continues. "I don’t need anybody to have my back, I’m good."
"But I’m happy to film with Kandi, Marlo. …" NeNe expresses.
She concludes: "I was happy to film with Tanya and I was happy to film with Eva."
We should all be so lucky as to get to work with our friends while also making millions and millions of dollars, right?
