On Sunday morning, beloved Disney Channel star Cameron Boyce was found dead. He was only 20 years old.

Friends, family, and fans are in shock over this sudden, tragic loss.

Now, beloved First Lady Michelle Obama recalls the time she spent with Cameron and is singing his praises.

Michelle Obama, whom we all miss more and more each day, openedup on both Twitter and on Instagram.

"I was lucky enough to share a few moments with Cameron Boyce," Michelle writes.

She notes that she spent time with him "on set, at the White House, and on a service project."

Michelle notes that this was "enough time to recognize that not only did he have incredible talent, but also an incredible heart."

"Sending out a lot of love and hugs to his family, friends, and his many, many fans," she concludes.

In 2014, as part of the White House’s Joining Forces initiative, Michelle Obama guest starred on Cameron’s show.

At the time, he was starring on the tween sitcom, Jessie.

Michelle appeared on an episode titled "From the White House to Our House," acknowledging the hardships faced by military families.

That same year, Cameron and his castmates took part in the White House Easter celebration.

The then-teenage actor also rubbed elbows with the First Lady during a Toys for Tots campaign.

Cameron rose to fame starring on Jessie. In recent years, he has become better known for his role on The Descendants.

In that Disney made-for-TV movie franchise, Cameron has played Carlos, the son of infamous villain Cruella de Vil.

There, he has costarred alongside Dove Cameron, Kristin Chenoweth, and Booboo Stewart in a series of films.

Tragically, he died overnight over the weekend.

"He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure," his family shared.

"Which," the family’s mournful statement continued. "Was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated."

According to multiple outlets, Cameron had been diagnosed with epilepsy years ago.

An autopsy was performed on Monday.

Pronouncement of the cause of death was not declared right away, however.

Instead, that decision has been deferred pending further investigation.

As we have emphasized, this does not mean that authorities suspect foul play, or even a cause of death other than a tragic, fatal seizure.

Instead, it likely means that the medical examiner’s office wants to rule out all other factors before making such a sensitive case’s findings public.

Cameron’s youth compounds this tragedy.

Most deaths of celebrities his age are attributed to car accidents, overdoses, or suicides.

Dying of natural causes at 20 is added cause for grief.

Cameron’s fanbase is particularly young — we think that it’s safe to say that the majority (though not all) of his fans are even younger than he was.

For some, this may be their first experience dealing with the sudden death of a beloved TV star.

Our hearts continue to go out to the family and loved ones of Cameron, and to his youngest and most emotionally vulnerable fans.
