There’s so much Teen Mom gossip out there, all the time, and so much of it is bad — Jenelle Evans’ child abuse allegations and newfound love of guns, Farrah Abraham’s legal troubles and general awfulness.
It’s actually pretty rare to hear just a happy, nice story about someone from the show, but if you do hear one, it’s probably about Chelsea Houska or Maci.
Since she’s so great, Maci recently made an appearance on Kailyn Lowry’s podcast, and while she was there, she discussed a whole, whole lot of things.
Everyone Loves Maci! Seriously, isn’t Maci just the greatest?
A Strong Possibility (MTV) Is she the greatest mom out of all the Teen Moms? Maybe, yeah.
Thanks, Girl! Since she’s so great and everything, she decided to do us all a solid and have a chat with Kailyn on her podcast, you know, just to update us on everything that’s been going on in her life.
SO MUCH (MTV) And, as you probably know, there’s been a WHOLE lot going on.
Moving On For example, you may have heard that Maci and her husband, Taylor McKinney, recently sold their house. What’s up with that?
Oh As she explained to Kailyn, they were looking to build a house on some land they own, but while they were checking out other houses to get an idea of what they’d want for their new house, they found one, already built and everything, that they really loved.
Makes Sense So they just went ahead and bought that one, sold their old one, and they’re keeping the land because hey, why not?
Pregnant or Not? Maci also touched on all those pregnancy rumors. They’ve been happening for a while now, so is there any truth to them?
Sorry! (MTV) She denied the rumors, but she did say that she and Taylor are still looking to adopt in the future.
Smart However, adoption is “going to be down the road because we don’t want to adopt a baby, we want to adopt a child, so we want to make sure that our family is in, like… no one’s ever in a perfect position, but in like a really good position to do so because adopting a child is a very big commitment.”
On Bristol (Getty) Later, she discussed the addition of Bristol Palin to the cast of Teen Mom OG, and her feelings were pretty clear …
No More OG? (MTV) “I think me and Catelynn and Amber are pretty much on the same page,” she said. “If they bring in new cast members, then we don’t want it to be called ‘Teen Mom OG’ because that’s not true if there’s new cast members.”
Rude! She confirmed the reports that she, Amber, and Catelynn learned about Bristol’s addition to the cast the same time the rest of us did, and that “some sort of courtesy call” from MTV would have been appreciated.
On the Bright Side … (Getty) She’s not too upset about the new cast member though, because “Well, I really feel like I’m not going to be mad at anybody joining because anybody is better than Farrah.”
Ugh (MTV) Of course the subject of Ryan Edwards had to come up at some point, too, right?
Well … (MTV) Maci admitted she had “no idea” how Ryan is doing these days because she’s got that restraining order against him, so she really hasn’t seen him lately.
Ol’ Jailbird Ryan! When the podcast was recorded, Ryan was still in jail, and Maci said “I do know why, but I just don’t want to say.”
Interesting! (MTV) Now we know that Ryan was arrested because he violated his probation by speeding – he was caught going 25 MPH over the speed limit. But it’s sweet that she didn’t share all of his business, isn’t it?
True (MTV) “To be honest with you,” she said, “I think I feel better that he’s in jail because I know he’s safe there … I know he’s not driving around, he’s not, ya know, he’s not doing something that could potentially really hurt him or an innocent person.”
So Sad “It’s Bentley’s dad,” she continued, “and although Bentley is about to be 10, I’m not sure how much time he can make up now but still, no one ever wants to tell their child something terrible has happened to their parent.”
Poor Bentley She revealed that Bentley does know what’s been happening with Ryan, but whenever anything “really bad” went down, he was primarily worried about whether or not he’d be able to maintain his relationship with Ryan’s parents.
Fair Enough (MTV) That makes sense – whenever Ryan had Bentley, his parents were the ones who actually took care of him.
Awww, Maci (Getty) Thankfully, although Maci obviously isn’t getting along with Ryan at the moment, and although she’s had plenty of issues with his parents, Jen and Larry, they are getting along right now, if only for Bentley’s sake.
Sweet! (MTV) “We’re not always going to get along or agree with each other,” she said, “but the four of us do a really good job of making sure that everything is good for Bentley and that Bentley gets to spend time with them and in that aspect, everything is normal for Bentley.”
The Feud Lives! But you know who Maci isn’t getting along with? Come on, you know.
Believe About Mackenzie Standifer, Ryan’s wife, Maci said “I mean, in my situation, if somebody shows you who they are, believe them the first time. So I’m keeping a good distance from that one.”
The BEST Mom! But even though she’s not Mackenzie’s biggest fan, she’s still going to do her best to play nice so that Bentley doesn’t suffer.
Way to Go, Girl (MTV) As she explained it, “It will be, I think, a struggle to try to find a way to make sure that no matter what’s going on with Ryan that Bentley has a relationship with his brother. Both brothers, really—Hudson and the new brother.”
The High Road Kailyn and her co-host, Lindsie, told Maci how impressive it’s been that she’s managed to take the high road when it comes to Ryan and Mackenzie, and she said she’s just a “high road kind of person.”
No Fixing This (MTV) “I’m a fixer,” she said. “I couldn’t fix him, so I left and then I continued to try to fix him even though it wasn’t like I wanted to be in a relationship with him, but I wanted the best for Bentley and I wanted things to be easy on me and him, ya know? I didn’t want to rip his eyeballs out of his face every time I saw him and I know he felt the same about me.”
Yay, Maci! What an enlightening interview, right? And, as always, Team Maci!
