Back in July, Mackenzie Standifer and Ryan Edwards quit Teen Mom OG .
Or so they say.
All these weeks later it’s still not totally clear if the troubled couple quit the show, or if they were fired at the behest of Ryan’s baby mama, Mackenzie Standifer.
Whatever the case, Ryan and Mackenzie are royally pissed off at the network that made them famous, and they recently accused MTV of playing a dirty trick on TMOG viewers.
The Not-So-Happy Couple Ryan and Mackenzie are MTV stars no longer. But that doesn’t mean they’re through offering their thoughts on the network and its practices.
Hard Times Ryan and Mackenzie were already having a rough go of it when they were struck by news that their time as reality stars had come to an end.
The Downward Spiral (MTV) Ryan’s ongoing drug and legal troubles have put his marriage to the test repeatedly over the past year.
The Low Point There was a time when they even prevented him from seeing his son, Bentley, as Maci was able to secure a restraining order as a result of some violent threats made by Ryan.
Maci’s Claim (MTV) According to Maci, Ryan threatened to murder her husband, Taylor McKinney, and she had legitimate reason to fear for her family’s safety.
Open and Shut A judge agreed with her … and so did MTV. The network allegedly fired Ryan and Mackenzie as a result of his ongoing troubles. And now, the couple is striking back …
Standifer Shade Mackenzie posted this photo on her Instagram story today. It seems she’s accusing TMOG execs of shady practices.
Mackenzie’s Cap “‘Family time’ set up by MTV,” Standifer captioned the photo. “Faaakkkkkeeeeeeeeeee.”
Mystery Post There’s some confusion among fans regarding what exactly Mackenzie’s photo shows and how old it is.
Jen and Larry Time? (MTV) Some believe the people featured in the pic are Ryan’s parents, Jen and Larry. If so, it might be a recent image, which would mean Jen and Larry are still under contract to MTV.
What’s Going On Here? (MTV) The most common theory is that Ryan and Mackenzie happened to be around while Jen and Larry were filming with a child (possibly Bentley).
Standifer the Spy If that’s the case, it seems Mackenzie snuck a secretive pic during filming in an effort to show the world that reality TV scenes are often staged (a fact most of us already knew).
Theory #2 But there are others who believe that Mackenzie simply posted a shot that she took several months ago in order to throw an unprovoked jab at MTV.
Playing With Fire Of course, if the first theory is true, and Mackenzie has been sneaking pics on set, you can bet she won’t be allowed near Jen and Larry’s house on filming days for much longer.
MTV Doesn’t Mess Around MTV has shown that it has no problem severing ties with problematic cast members and their families. If Mackenzie keeps stirring the pot, her in-laws may be left without a lucrative gig.
Bad Blood (Image Credit: MTV) It remains unclear who made the final decision to end Ryan and Mackenzie’s relationship with MTV, but we know things didn’t end on good terms.
Standifer Speaks Out (Image Credit: MTV) Thus far, Mackenzie is the only one to speak out on the matter, and while she certainly didn’t mince words, she’s probably a bit biased in her assessment.
Talking Smack (MTV) “We’re not returning to Teen Mom this season,” she told E! News in July. “The network told us they don’t want to show Ryan as a recovering addict.”
This Girl is PISSED “But they did want to enter a contract with our unborn baby and have the baby film with Ryan’s parents so it would look like someone else is raising it,” an angry Mackenzie concluded. Like we said, Mackenzie is no fan of MTV these days. We expect there’s still more social media smack talk to come.
