Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin have quite a history together.
It’s been 18 months since Lowry and Marroquin got divorced, but they remain very much a part of one another’s lives.
Part of the reason for that, of course, is the fact that Javi and Kailyn have a child together.
But Kail and Javi are also bound together by their shared professional commitments, as well as the never-ending drama that comes with starring on one of TV’s most bonkers reality show.
They’re exes who are unable to escape each other – even for short periods of time – and the situation is beginning to take a serious toll on what’s left of their friendship.
Better Days
There was a time when TM2 fans couldn’t have wrapped their heads around the idea of Kailyn and Javi splitting up. Sadly, their marriage deteriorated quite rapidly, and it’s been all ups and downs ever since.
In It For Lincoln
After news of their divorce went public, Kail and Javi stated that they intended to put their son’s needs first and maintain an amicable co-parenting relationship. Unfortunately, their best intentions were soon overwhelmed by the reality of the situation.
Briana Drama
The lowest point in recent months came when Javi began dating Briana DeJesus, a longtime rival of Kailyn’s. Needless to say, Lowry wasn’t thrilled with his decision.
Kail v. Bri
It wasn’t long before Kailyn and Bri began exchanging trash talk on social media and forming alliances: Briana buddied up with Kail’s other rival, Jenelle Evans, while the rest of the cast sided with Lowry.
Stuck in the Middle
Javi was both the cause of the drama and an innocent bystander. Fortunately for all involved, the situation didn’t last very long.
Over Before It Got Started
Just as rumors began to fly indicating that Javi and Briana were getting serious, the couple called it quits. But that doesn’t mean their brief romance is no longer creating major drama …
Bailin’ on Kailyn
In a recent episode of her podcast, Kailyn Lowry revealed that Javi will not be attending the upcoming Teen Mom 2 reunion show, which films in New York next month. The reason, Kail says, is that he’s afraid of confronting her and Briana at the same time.
He’s Not Alone
And it seems Javi won’t be alone in shirking his professional duties. In fact, none of Kailyn’s exes will be on hand for the reunion taping.
Calling It Like She Sees It
“None of my baby daddies are going to be at the reunion, I’ve heard,” Kail revealed on a recent episode of her Coffee Convos podcast. “Javi doesn’t want to go, I’m pretty sure, because of the Briana drama.”
To Be Expected
Kail obviously isn’t shocked by the fact that Jo Rivera and Chris Lopez are planning to sit this one out. Jo wasn’t involved in any major storylines this season, and Chris seems to have no intention of EVER appearing on camera. Javi’s decision, however, clearly comes as a surprise.
Out of Character
“You know Javi loves his camera time and will do anything to be in front of a camera,” Kail told her co-host Lindsie Chrisley.
Hung Out to Dry
The problem, it seems, is that Kail had hoped Javi would support her in the ongoing war against Briana. “But the fact that he is basically bitching out, at a time where I feel like he needs to speak the f-ck up, I’m a little salty,” she added.
Shirking His Responsibility?
“I feel like, if he gets out of going to the reunion and I have to deal with Briana and that drama by myself, I’m not going to be a happy camper,” Lowry remarked.
His Loss?
As The Ashley’s Reality Roundup points out, Javi might be depriving himself of involvement in one of the most drama-packed reunions in the history of the Teen Mom franchise.
What’s In Store
In addition to her beef with Bri, Kailyn has a score to settle Jenelle Evans. In fact, Kail joked to Chrisley that she and Jenelle might “throw hands” at the taping.
Not Alone
While it’s a little weird that Javi is choosing not to attend, considering how closely he was involved in so much of this season’s drama, he’s certainly not alone in sitting this one out.
A Sparsely-Attended Affair
Sources say Leah Messer’s ex-husbands, Jeremy Calvert and Corey Simms, will not be in attendance, nor will Jenelle Evans’ husband, David Eason, who has been fired by MTV and banned from appearing on camera.
So Who WILL Come Through?
But not every baby daddy has bailed on the proceedings. Nathan Griffith, the father of Jenelle’s second child, will be in attendance, as will Chelsea Houska’s husband, Cole DeBoer. Of course, fans are still holding out hope for one surprise appearance…
We Want Javi!
It’s not just Kail who wants Javi to offer his two cents at the reunion. Some fans feel that it’s the only way he can make things right with Lowry and provide some closure for his storyline this season. Marroquin has declined to comment on the situation, so it’s possible he’ll make an appearance, but don’t go holding your breath …
