American Idol asked one question of its remaining contestants last night:

Were they ready for this Kelly?

Sorry, it had to be done. But the Top 9 finalists were all mentored by The OG herself on Wednesday, as Kelly Clarkson returned to sing "At Last," offer up advice and be generally awesome.

Who went home? Who deserved to go home? Check out each cover now:

In the end, Daniel Seavey could not "Breakaway" from his inexperience, getting the boot via the first-ever fan Twitter elimination.

Who will be on the chopping block next week?

Rayvon Owen acquitted himself well while singing for his life with “Since U Been Gone,” while Clark Beckham scores point with us for going all Love Actually with “The Trouble with Love Is.”

Qaasim Middleton struggled with his acoustic guitar on “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You),” while Quentin Alexander grew emotional on “Dark Side.”

Joey Cook slayed “Miss Independent” by putting her own twist on the track, while Tyanna Jones was a bit inconsistent while singing “Mr. Know It All.”

Finally, Jax broke down “Beautiful Disaster” without much musical help and Nick Fradiani shouted a little too much on “Catch My Breath.”

Who would YOU send home next week based on these performances?
