Jenelle Evans would easily take the title of worst parent in the history of reality television — were it not for the fact that she chooses baby daddies who are just as bad.
It can’t be easy for Evans to find partners who are as angry and negligent as she is, but the girl’s redneck radar is finely tuned, and in a crowd of strange men, she can easily pick out the one who’s had CPS called to his home on multiple occasions.
That’s how she ended up with David Eason — and prior to that unholy union, it’s how she got pregnant by Nathan Griffith.
These days, Jenelle and Nathan are locked in a bitter custody battle , and while he’s making his case to a judge, she’s taking her evidence straight to the court of public opinion.
And like all situations involving Jenelle, this thing is getting ugly in a hurry …
Better Days It wasn’t all that long ago that Jenelle and Nathan were engaged with a baby on the way. Oh, how times have changed.
The War For Kaiser These days, Jenelle and Nathan are constantly locking horns over their 4-year-old son, Kaiser. They currently share custody, but Nathan is trying to have Jenelle stripped of all custody rights.
Nate the Dad In addition to Kaiser, Nathan has a daughter named Emery from a previous relationship. He doesn’t appear to have had any co-parenting issues on that front.
Mixed Messages Trying to have it both ways, the 25-year old Terror of Oak Island has publicly berated Nathan both for trying to spend too much time with Kaiser … and for skipping the scheduled visits he has.
Today’s Tactic This week, it’s the latter. Jenelle took to Twitter to claim that Nathan skipped scheduled visits with both of his kids (he has a daughter from a previous relationship) so that he could “party” instead.
The Allegation “Skipped a weekend with both your kids to party again. At this point what do you tell your child?” Jenelle wrote in a now-deleted tweet. Needless to say, her accusation didn’t sit well with Team Nathan …
The Wrath of Ashley Nathan has been dating Ashley Lanhardt for about a year now, and to say his girlfriend has proven to be a pitbull in social media skirmishes is an understatement. Jenelle has met her match (and Nate has a type).
Speaking Up When Nathan Can’t Often, Nathan is forced to keep quiet for legal reasons. It’s on these occasions that Ashley steps in and puts Jenelle in her place on Griffith’s behalf.
The Real Deal “Tell him bc he’s always ‘sick’ u won’t let him see his daddy on his scheduled weekends,” Lanhardt tweeted in response to Jenelle.
The Truth Comes Out “Sorry this trip for his sister’s birthday was planned months ago, and because you pick and choose weekends, you switched our weekend,” she continued.
Getting Ugly From there, Lanhardt appeared to imply that Jenelle had been negligent in her parenting duties. We guess this is the risk Evans ran by making the fight public.
Rant Over “And we see emery anytime we want for weeks at a time because her parents know how to co parent, should I even post what’s on his butt right now bc he’s dirty? Rant over,” Lanhardt tweeted.
A Weak Response (MTV) Jenelle fired back with a tweet that — rather tellingly — did not dispute any of Ashley’s claims, but rather offered up the kind of childish “logic” we’ve come to expect from Jenelle. Hella weak TBH.
Sounds Like SOMEONE’S Feelings Were Hurt! “No matter what excuses come out of anyone’s mouth … my child’s feelings are still hurt. End of story,” Jenelle wrote.
Allow Us to Explain… (MTV) But Jenelle, you’re the parent, which means sometimes when your child’s feelings are hurt, it’s up to you to calmly explain to them that no one is at fault. Pro tip (or basically just a common sense normal person tip): A public temper tantrum will almost never benefit your child.
The Incident (MTV) The latest beef between Jenelle and Ashley/Nathan comes on the heels of an incident that nearly cost Jenelle custody of her middle child.
Road Raging With her eldest son, Jace, in the front passenger seat, Jenelle pursued a driver who had cut her off, eventually following the man to his home and pulling a gun on him.
Scary Stuff Though little Kaiser was not on hand for the incident, Nathan is reportedly still planning to use the altercation as evidence that Jenelle is unable to provide a safe environment for her children.
Nathan’s Inquiry (Getty) “Who follows someone home and trespasses on someone’s property?” Nathan asked online. Griffith is no prize himself at times when it comes to his decision-making, but it’s a fair question – and as with most situations involving Jenelle, there’s really no good answer for that one.
