Bill Cosby is a convicted rapist and a ward of Pennsylvania.
The disgraced comedian was found guilty in April 2018 of drugging and assaulting a woman named Andrea Constand and then sentenced to three to 10 years behind bars in September of 2018.
“Nobody is above the law because of where they live, who they are, wealth, fame, celebrity or even philanthropy,” said the judge said during Cosby’s hearing while delivering Cosby’s sentence.
“Any lesser sentence would take away from the seriousness of the crime,” he added.
Overall, Cosby has been accused of rape by over 60 women.
He deserves to be behind bars — and we have a look below for you at exactly what life is like for him there.
Will the former sitcom star ever live freely again?
Good Riddance, Bill Bill Cosby is officially an inmate. The convicted rapist poses here for his final mug/booking shot prior to entering prison.
His Other Booking Photo (Getty) This snapshot was taken very shortly after Cosby learned of his sentencing and was escorted out of the courtroom in handcuffs.
A History of Predatory Behavior (Getty) “Your time has come,” said Judge Steven T. O’Neill in court after labeling him a “violent sexual predator” and requiring Cosby’s name to be on a permanent sex-offender registry, which is sent to neighbors and schools.
Take Him Away! (Getty) Cosby is in handcuffs in this photo. He’s being hauled off to Pennsylvania’s State Correctional Institute at Phoenix, which is located about 30 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
What Kind of Institution is This? (Getty) It is a maximum security state prison. Cosby is officially inmate NN7687 and has been sentenced to “total confinement.” He will need to take a sex offenders program inside the facility.
About the Facility… (McNaughton, Susan) The prison was put into operation just this July and it houses 3,830 beds as well as classrooms, a barber shop and gym. The jail offers various vocational classes and rehabilitation programs. It includes inmates who have been sentenced to death.
A Typical Cell: Cosby is being housed in a single cell – which is 8 feet by 13 feet and 10 feet tall – in a unit adjacent to the infirmary, a press release from the prison has said. Inmates at SCI Phoenix participate in a 6 a.m. “standing count” roll call, when they must stand and be counted.

Cosby Isn’t Their First Celebrity (Getty) “The Department of Corrections has had high-profile inmates before, and I’m sure we’ll have them again, so it’s not that much out of the ordinary. He’ll be treated like other inmates,” said Amy Worden, press secretary for the state Department of Corrections.
But O.J. Simpson Disagrees (Getty) The very likely murderer has already discussed Cosby, telling TMZ that “rapists are frowned upon in prison” and saying Cosby should be under house arrest for his own safety.
The Department of Corrections Responds… (Getty) “We are taking all of the necessary precautions to ensure Mr. Cosby’s safety and general welfare in our institution,” Pennsylvania Department of Corrections Secretary John Wetzel said in a statement. “The long-term goal is for him to be placed in the general population to receive the programming required during his incarceration.”
What is Life Actually Like on the Inside? Following a 10-day classification and diagnostic process, Cosby will be permitted to purchase a personal television. He can also buy a radio or tablet in order to use email and play games.
And His Schedule There? (Getty)
Anything Else? (Getty) Inmates can exercise at the prison gym, attend classes in more than 30 rooms, visit the barbershop and attend chapel services. They also can take vocational education classes in subjects including barbering, custodial maintenance or carpentry.
Is He Really in Trouble There? (Getty) No, a source claims to Radar Online, saying: “Prisoners are excited that Cosby is there. Even the toughest cellblocks showed respect for him.”
He’s the OG! (Getty) This same sources alleges that Cosby already has a nickname. “The OG. This usually stands for Original Gangster, which seems absurd to dub a giant celebrity who has drugged and rapist at minimum one person.
He’s Really Just The Old Geezer (Getty) A former immate at this same facility actually emailed The Hollywood Gossip and said “OG” at the prison is what people call “old geezer” there, not anyone considered to be a gangster. That’s hilarious. And Cosby is the absolute worst.
