David Dobrik is no longer married to the elderly mother of his closest friend.

The wildly popular YouTube personality has legally pulled the plug on his relationship with Lorraine Nash, just a few weeks after confirming their shocking union to the world.

"Last night I became my best friends stepfather by marrying his mother," Dobrik wrote on Instagram in May, along with a picture of the pair in wedding attire.

He added at the time:

"So grateful for this opportunity. I’ll treat you as my own. Love you Jason, now go take out the trash it’s stinking up our living room."

Nearly all observers assumed this was a lame and disrespectful publicity stunt — and, let’s face it, that’s almost definitely true.

But it still may have been an actual marriage.

"My friend told me I would never find love and get married. So I flew to his moms house and married her on the spot," David Tweeted in May, explaining:

"Now that same friend is my stepson. True love always wins."

The social media star even shared a video online of himself flying to to Boston to propose to Lorraine, telling her straight up that he wanted to be Jason’s stepdad.

"That would be hysterical," Lorraine replied, agreeing to fly to Las Vegas to get hitched.

(Editor’s Note: Just to get up on a political high horse here for a second; if you’re against gay marriage because you think it sullies the important concept of marriage… don’t you also need to be against quickie Las Vegas weddings such as this? Shouldn’t they also be illegal, using your own logic?)

Sadly/predictably, this fake love was not forever.

The union has not lasted.

E! News has obtained court documents, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday, June 11, that show David’s petition for the dissolution of marriage.

He has not yet commented on the break-up.

Dobrik, whose middle name is Julian, was born on July 23, 1996 in Slovakia.

He’s known for being the de facto leader of the popular YouTube ensemble The Vlog Squad, starting his career on Vine prior to creating his own YouTube channel towards the end of 2014.

A majority of the footage he posts on the Internet feature his friends and fellow Viners – such as Liza Koshy, Alex Ernst, Gabbie Hanna and Jason Nash.

His main channel has reached over 12 million subscribers, which is totally and completely insane when you think about it.
