Pretty much no one on the planet is singing a very happy tune about Barbara Streisand at the moment.

Quite the opposite, in fact.

Internet users are positively stunned over comments made by the legendary artist.

In an interview with the Evening Standard, Streisand says she “absolutely” believes the claims of sexual molestation against Michael Jackson.

There have been many such claims against the late singer for many decades, but Wade Robson and James Safechuck went public with their in the recent documentary Leaving Neverland.

The movie shined an extreme light on the VERY disturbing allegations against Jackson, including how he lured these two men into his bed and his life as young boys, touching and treating them in an inappropriate manner.

As mentioned above, these accusations are not new.

But they seem to finally have caught on among mainstram outlets and fans, leading to harsh rebukes against Jackson.

Streisand, however, dug herself quite a deep grave when she continued commenting on this sensitive topic as follows.

Saying of her former famous friend:

“His sexual needs were his sexual needs, coming from whatever childhood he has or whatever DNA he has. You can say ‘molested’, but those children, as you heard say [the grown-up Robson and Safechuck], they were thrilled to be there.

“They both married and they both have children, so it didn’t kill them.”

We speak for any rationl human being when we respond to these remarks with a simple:

WHAT THE HOLY HELL, BARBARA STREISAND?!!???!?!?!?

It shouldn’t take much analysis to explain or realize why this take isn’t just hot; it’s flat-out awful.

Starting with the last part of what Streisand said, obviously how a victim responds to being victimized has nothing whatsoever to do with the crime itself.

It simply means the victim ought to be praised for his or her strength.

Secondly… his sexual needs were his sexual needs?!? So all should be overlooked if one is horny, basically?

The entire quote is truly unbelievable.

Streisand went on to say that she had a “combination of feelings” on the matter.

“I feel bad for the children. I feel bad for him,” she said, adding:

“I blame, I guess, the parents, who would allow their children to sleep with him? Why would Michael need these little children dressed like him and in the shoes and the dancing and the hats?”

(Editor’s Note: Because he was a very messed up individual, that’s why.)

Fans across the country were stunned and disgusted at Streisand’s opinion here, as you might expect.

“For all survivors of sexual abuse, I am appalled by the ignorance of Barbra Streisand. Those were kids that were manipulated by a grown man. #BarbraStreisand #survivors,” one Twitter user wrote, and another commented:

“@BarbraStreisand with your thought process on Michael Jackson…. then does the same apply to #metoo ??? Do you tell women who have been assaulted, oh you are fine, you lived and you kinda enjoyed it?!?!

“You are a sick MF.”

In light of the much-deserved criticism that has come her way, Streisand released the following statement on Saturday:

To be crystal clear, there is no situation or circumstance where it is OK for the innocence of children to be taken advantage of by anyone.

The stories these two young men shared were painful to hear, and I feel nothing but sympathy for them. The single most important role of being a parent is to protect their children.

It’s clear that the parents of the two young men were also victimized and seduced by fame and fantasy.

Streisand later posted on her Instagram page:

I am profoundly sorry for any pain or misunderstanding I caused by not choosing my words more carefully about Michael Jackson and his victims, because the words as printed do not reflect my true feelings. I didn’t mean to dismiss the trauma these boys experienced in any way.

Like all survivors of sexual assault, they will have to carry this for the rest of their lives.

I feel deep remorse and I hope that James and Wade know that I truly respect and admire them for speaking their truth.

Jackson’s family has denounced Leaving Neverland and deny all accusations made against the dead star.

In a 2005 criminal trial, Jackson was famously acquitted of charges of molesting a different boy.
