On Sunday, model Emma Appleton tweeted a message allegedly sent to her by fashion photographer Terry Richardson, suggesting a Vogue shoot in exchange for sex.

Appleton said the message/offer came from Terry’s Facebook account.

Richardson immediately denied the allegation. “This is obviously a fake. Terry did not send this text,” said his spokesperson, Candice Marks.

But Emma Appleton, who has since deleted the message, and apparently her account, stood by her story, insisting to BuzzFeed that it is authentic.

She said she deleted the screen shot to avoid further “abuse or attention.”

“Beginning to wish I hadn’t posted that… it doesn’t matter who you are or the what the industry is, just be a decent human being,” Appleton Tweeted.

“The fact people think this is acceptable blows my fucking mind. See ya.”

It isn’t the first time something like this has been alleged, nor will it be the last. Richardson specifically seems to carry this creepy rep … but is it just a rep?

Appleton’s allegation, real or fake, has raised familiar questions about whether leading fashion magazines and brands will continue to work with the photographer.

Richardson has been accused repeatedly of seeking sex from models.

His subjects range from Kate Upton to Lindsay Lohan and Miley Cyrus to Lena Dunham, and has continued to operate at the highest level of the industry.

He has never been charged with or convicted of a crime in connection with any allegations made against him and has offered denials all the way.

In a post on Reddit in March, former model Charlotte Waters said Richardson made unwanted advances and request during a photo shoot with her.

Jamie Peck, Liskula Cohen, and Rie Rasmussen told similar stories.

Richardson wrote a piece for the Huffington Post titled “Correcting the Rumors,” claiming an “emotionally-charged witch hunt,” and offering a vague denial.
