It’s been six months since Demi Lovato suffered an overdose that nearly claimed her life.

The singer detoxed in an LA hospital, and then immediately checked in to a treatment facility.

Lovato’s rehab was extensive — and expensive.

For 90 days, she shuttled between an in-patient center in Arizona and a Chicago hospital where she met with the team of doctors who helped her to get sober the first time around.

After she completed treatment, Demi’s family and friends gleefully reported that she appeared to be 100 percent committed to the hard work of recovery.

Shortly thereafter, however, reports surfaced indicating that Demi is "falling back into her old lifestyle."

Most of the insiders who expressed concerns stated that they were especially worried about Lovato’s relationship with Henry Levy, a clothing designer whom she met during her time in rehab.

Addicts are generally discouraged from forming new romantic relationships during their first year of treatment.

And forming such attachments to other people who are in recovery is particularly frowned upon.

So it’s not hard to see why Dami’s family might be concerned about her current situation.

According to a new report from Radar Online, the situation is made even more dire by the fact that

“She is not playing her recovery well right now," a source tells the site.

"Demi is so head over heels in love with this guy, so she thinks, that she is blind to anyone’s criticism or suggestion."

The insider adds that the relationship is troublingly co-dependent in nature, but Demi and Henry have convinced themselves that they’re providing one another with much-needed support.

“She is spending all of her time with him and claims that they are each other’s sober companion when, in fact, everyone thinks they are going to be each other’s downfall,” says the source.

The source adds that Demi has been spending less and less time with the close friends and family members whom she previously credited with helping her to get clean.

Obviously, the fact that she’s getting serious with Levy is not necessarily a sign that she’s using again — but the concern among Demi’s loved ones is certainly understandable.

We wish her all the best in her continued recovery.
