Find out below!
WILL Win: Best Comedy Series Veep is generally a hilarious comedy series, but the show was just not quite as funny during the most recent season. The acting was still on fine form, but Atlanta deserves the win.
SHOULD Win: Best Comedy Series Atlanta. The show was a roaring success when it debuted in 2016, and part of that was down to the solid script and acting from Donald Glover. It has a solid shot at winning, but this category may as well be named after Veep which will win.
WILL Win: Best Comedy Actress Julia Louis Dreyfus is one of the best comedy actresses out there, so we would not be totally mad about her winning.
SHOULD Win: Best Comedy Actress (Getty Images) Tracee Ellis-Ross has great comedy timing and is very likeable as Bow Johnson, so we do think she’s in with a chance at winning.
WILL Win: Best Comedy Actor (Getty Images for Museum of the M) Jeffrey Tambor has been recognized in the past for his role on Transparent and the Emmy voters have been known to let the same person win more than once.
SHOULD Win: Best Comedy Actor (Getty Images For Entertainment Weekly) Donald Glover turned in a convincing performance as Earn on Atlanta Season 1. Glover is a genius and deserves the award.
WILL Win: Best Drama Series (Netflix) Stranger things was the surprise hit of 2016. With a talented cast, solid script and the fact the whole world is talking about it, it will likely win.
SHOULD Win: Best Drama There is absolutely no show on TV like The Handmaid’s Tale. With an eery dystopian world filled with fresh and intriguing characters, it should win.
WILL Win: Best Actress in a Drama Elisabeth Moss effortlessly embodied the character of Offred on The Handmaid’s Tale. The buzz for the show and her performance should be enough to tip voters towards a win for her.
SHOULD Win: Best Actress in a Drama (Getty Images) Claire Foy emerged as a clear frontrunner to be nominated based on her performance on Netflix hit, The Crown. She flawlessly carried the whole show and deserves to have the edge over Elisabeth Moss on this one.
WILL Win: Best Actor in a Drama (Getty) Sterling was a delight in This Is Us. His character had an exciting story and Sterling played it very well.
SHOULD Win: Best Actor in a Drama We would not object to Sterling winning, but Liev Schreiber is absolutely killing it on Ray Donovan. His character has so many layers and Schreiber can effortlessly let viewers know how the character is really feeling through his body language and blank glances.
