We have tragic news to report from the art world:

Lucien Smith — the celebrated artist whose paintings brought in millions at auction — has died at the age of 37.

News of Smith’s comes courtesy of the people closest to him, including longtime gallerist Bill Powers, who helped launch the painter’s career more than a decade ago.

Smith’s cause of death has not been disclosed.

“When people remember contemporary art from the early teens of this century, it will be impossible not to include the work of Lucien Smith in that conversation,” Powers told Page Six.

Smith first exploded onto the art scene after graduating from Cooper Union in 2011.

He quickly became known for his unconventional “Rain Paintings,” created by spraying paint onto canvases with fire extinguishers.

The unusual technique helped turn the young artist into one of the biggest names in New York’s early-2010s art boom. And the money soon followed.

Smith was named to Forbes‘ “30 Under 30” list in both 2013 and 2014. One of his paintings sold at Sotheby’s for $372,000 in 2014, and his work eventually commanded prices approaching $400,000 on the secondary market.

But Smith grew uncomfortable with the art-world machine that had made him famous.

He moved to Montauk and began focusing less on being the next hot young artist and more on creating opportunities for others. In 2015, he founded Serving the People, a nonprofit designed to support emerging talent in art, music and film.

“I was subscribing to this idea of what a New York City artist was that was really pretentious and unhealthy,” Smith previously said. “I’m not interested in being a New York art star.”

In 2025, Smith opened FOOD, a restaurant inspired by the legendary 1970s Soho establishment founded by artists Gordon Matta-Clark, Carol Goodden, and Tina Girouard. The restaurant became another gathering place for members of New York’s art, fashion, and music communities.

And then, remarkably, Smith appeared ready to return to the work that made him famous.

Just weeks before his death, he created four new Rain Paintings on an abandoned baseball field in Montauk. The pieces are slated to appear in an upcoming exhibition titled “Delay of Game” at Tripoli Gallery, beginning September 12.

“Life has taken me full circle,” Smith said of returning to the process.

Sadly, that comeback will now become part of his posthumous legacy.

Tripoli Gallery owner Tripoli Patterson described Smith as a “bright star,” adding that she intends to honor his vision for the exhibition.

Smith leaves behind his mother, Vivian, his younger brother, and a body of work that helped define an era of the New York art scene.

Adelia “Ada” Zeidler passed away in December of 2025.

“I was with her when she died,” Clooney shared, “and there was this feeling being with her, holding her hand when she died, understanding how brief all this is.”

Reflecting upon her passing, Clooney remarked that, sitting with her at that time, it felt like “minutes ago that she and I were both kids together.”

“Minutes ago holding hands as little kids,” he expressed.

“And now, you know … time goes so fast,” Clooney remarked.

“All of this,” he continued, “and so we need to find nothing but joy.”

Clooney emphasized that this also meant needing to “find joy in the things that make [us] miserable.”

Finding joy in life is so important

“You have to seek the joy out,” George Clooney affirmed in Venice.

“You have to demand it,” he stressed, “and you have to make sure that you demand it of yourself. That’s it.”

Clooney went on to acknowledge that he has no idea what may or may not follow death.

He explained that “nobody I know has yet to come back and tell me exactly how it works out.”

That is a very fair and honest take upon the possibility of existence after death.

Last December, Clooney eulogized his sister. She was 65 when she passed away.

“My sister, Ada, was my hero,” he affirmed to People a the time.

“She faced down cancer with courage and humor,” Clooney praised. “I’ve never met anyone so brave.”

He shared: “Amal and I will miss her terribly.”

For a while there, it looked as though Ryan Edwards’ life was headed in the right direction.

But now, the troubled Teen Mom star is back in the court system, facing mandatory drug tests and the risk of losing custody of his children.

Over the weekend, Ryan’s ex-wife, Mackenzie Standifer, was granted emergency temporary custody of the couple’s two children. And now Ryan must undergo a very specific type of testing.

As longtime Teen Mom fans know, Edwards has long struggled with opioid addiction.

And according to court documents obtained by The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, the judge in Ryan’s case has now ordered him to have his fingernails clipped for purposes of kratom testing.

Kratom is an herbal supplement that’s legal in many parts of the US — but not in Tennessee, where Ryan lives.

Typically sold as a pill or powder, kratom is not classified as an opioid, but it binds to the opioid receptors in the brain and body, creating an effect similar to drugs like heroin and fentanyl.

For obvious reasons, it would have the potential to be very dangerous for someone like Ryan, who has a long history of opioid dependence.

Mackenzie reportedly informed the court that she has reason to believe Ryan might be using kratom.

This led the judge to order that Ryan’s nails be clipped at a testing facility “for the longest scientifically supported lookback period.”

So if Mackenzie’s suspicions are accurate, and Ryan has used kratom at all in recent weeks, the test will likely determine that.

As it is, his life has become quite complicated, and he’s likely to be spending a lot of time in court in the months ahead.

Currently, Edwards is only permitted supervised visits with his two kids by Mackenzie.

Meanwhile, Ryan and Amanda Conner are getting divorced after just nine months of marriage. The divorce follows Amanda’s DUI arrest, which seems to have taken place after Ryan called 911 on her.

Conner has since accused Edwards of abuse.

All of this comes on the heels of a period in which Ryan had gotten sober and appeared to have gotten his life in order following several years of chaos.

Even Edwards’ first baby mama, Maci Bookout, was singing his praises amid what appeared to be a miraculous comeback.

On September 8, Page Six reported a claim that Season 25 will be Kimmel’s last.

This season has only just begun this week following Labor Day weekend. It will end next year before the show’s usual summer hiatus.

The report alleged that this will mean the end of Kimmel at ABC — even adding that he has been shopping around for other gigs.

In a nasty tweet, Pratt celebrated the rumor of Kimmel’s departure from ABC.

“Newsom AND Kimmel gone next year??” the crystal connoiseur asked.

“Be still, my laughing heart!” Pratt celebrated.

He then declared: “Things are looking UP fam.”

We’re not saying that a man in his mid-40s cannot use popular slang, but perhaps someone with Pratt’s specific politics could pick something other than AAVE for his tweets.

Is this celebration premature?

Anyone who may have once thought that the late Robert Mueller’s investigation would lead to Donald Trump’s downfall or that either Impeachment or is attempt to murder members of his own government in a violent coup on January 6, 2021 would mean anything could tell you this:

Don’t count your schadenfreude before it hatches. Or something like that.

It’s true that Page Six reported that Jimmy Kimmel’s contract will run out in May 2027 and will not be renewed, to Spencer Pratt’s delight.

But ABC almost immediately denied the report, calling it “inaccurate” and calling any such claims “purely speculative.”

It is pretty unusual for Page Six to report something like this, only for it to be immediately denounced. We know that they’re not People or TMZ, but we’d still expect that Page Six would only report something this confidently if they truly believed their sources.

As both fans and detractors (and, let’s be real, most people are in the latter camp) of Spencer Pratt may recall, he and Jimmy Kimmel squared off during Pratt’s widely lampooned mayoral primary earlier this year.

Pratt running for Los Angeles was a threat to all of the people of America’s second-largest city. Kimmel being one of those people, he took it pretty personally.

He even decorated a U-Haul, mocking Pratt’s failed bid — and as a nod to his claim that he would leave LA if he lost. Even folks who aren’t really in Kimmel’s target audience (ourselves included) got a chuckle out of that, because bad men deserve ridicule.

Look, there’s a chance that the report was true, but that ABC hasn’t actually made the decision or is weighing their options.

If Kimmel does get the axe after half a century, it’s unlikely to go over well with viewers — or stockholders. Disney took a serious financial hit when they temporarily suspended his show at Trump’s urging just last year. Is capitulating to the Trump regime so important that they’d neglect their fiduciary responsibilities (not their sense of justice; they are a corporation) yet again?

More than 3,000 civilians lost their lives in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and countless more would die in the lengthy military campaigns that followed.

The memory of those events should be enough to unify Americans in shared grief — but it’s 2026, and these days, we’re all incapable of being normal about anything.

In addition to young people who are attempting to downplay the severity of the events of 9/11 on social media, today saw President Trump repeating a widely disputed story about his whereabouts during the attacks.

Trump began by repeating a claim he first made in 2016, explaining that he was near Ground Zero with “a big group of people” when the first plane hit.

“I’ll be honest, it was raw and nobody’s seen anything like it ever,” the president said (via Newsweek).

“I was there when we actually thought the U.S. Steel building was coming down, and I’ll never forget that I was standing next to these two massive wonderful firemen, and we heard a screech … and everybody thought that the U.S. Steel building was coming down and it was not so far from us,” he continued, adding:

“And I’ll never forget two firemen. We thought it was coming down on top of us, and two firemen, big, strong guys — and I’m not the smallest guy in the world — they grabbed me under the arm, said, ‘Got to get out of here!’ And they literally lifted me up.

As Barstool Sports journalist Kevin Clancy points out, Trump gave several interviews in the immediate aftermath of 9/11.

And at no time did he claim that he was close to Ground Zero or that he had been rescued by firefighters.

“I saw the whole thing,” Trump told Howard Stern the day after the attacks, explaining that he had windows from which he could see the World Trade Center.

“I mean, specifically, I have two windows that are focused on the building.”

We know that Trump enjoys making grandiose statements regardless of whether or not there’s any truth to them.

But lying about 9/11 seems a bit extreme even by his standards.

It’s been nearly six years since Lori Loughlin was released from prison following her involvement in the Hollywood college admissions scandal.

But it seems that the ripples from that event are still being felt half a decade later.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Loughlin has now filed for divorce from designer Mossimo Giannulli, her husband of 30 years.

The filing comes nearly a year after Loughlin and Giannulli announced that they had separated.

The Full House alum filed divorce papers in Los Angeles, citing the ever-popular celebrity catch-all of “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.

According to the filing, the couple’s date of separation was August 31, 2025. Loughlin is also asking that their assets and debts be divided according to the terms of a prenuptial agreement they signed before tying the knot.

And apparently, Lori would like Mossimo to pick up the tab for her legal fees.

Because nothing says “amicable separation” quite like asking your soon-to-be ex to pay your divorce lawyer.

Loughlin and Giannulli tied the knot in 1997 after eloping, and their marriage lasted nearly three decades. They share two daughters, Isabella “Bella” Rose, 27, and influencer Olivia Jade, 26.

The couple first revealed that they were living apart in October 2025, with Loughlin’s representative saying at the time that they were “taking a break from their marriage” and that there were no legal proceedings underway.

Well, that part has obviously changed.

The split also comes after one of the most infamous chapters in the couple’s lives: the 2019 college admissions scandal that landed both of them in federal prison.

Loughlin and Giannulli admitted to paying $500,000 to have their daughters falsely portrayed as crew recruits in order to help secure their admission to the University of Southern California.

Loughlin ultimately served two months behind bars, while Giannulli served five months.

The scandal appeared to put enormous strain on the marriage, though the couple initially presented a united front throughout the legal ordeal.

By 2025, however, that front had finally crumbled.

Apparently, when Harry did decide to move back to the country that despises his wife and barely tolerates him (for the crime of … well, it’s unclear), he and Charles did speak over the phone.

At the time, the monarch and Prince William were “holidaying” (vacationing) at Balmoral in Scotland.

Reportedly, the royal family felt “blindsided” by the abrupt return to the UK.

Charles allegedly feels “perplexed” by an apparent lack of communication.

There are even claims that the royal family wonders at Harry and Meghan’s “motives.”

“Harry has spoken openly about desperately wanting reconciliation,” an inside source noted.

“And yet he is the one keeping his father and his family in the dark about major developments such as moving back to the UK,” that insider then claimed.

“Such behavior just makes it harder to deal with the Sussexes or know their true motives for moving their entire lives back to Harry’s homeland,” the source alleged.

According to the insider: “The whole family [is] perplexed about the situation.”

We of course cannot confirm the claims that the Mirror’s alleged insiders might make.

However, on Monday, September 7, Charles did make a statement — by way of his royal chamberlain, a totally real job that exists in 2026 — confirming Harry and Meghan’s status in the UK.

They remain part of the royal family but are not expected to carry out duties as working royals.

Charles characterized them as “private citizens with commercial and charitable interests.”

This is exactly what Harry and Meghan chose to be back in early 2020. Charles’ message is merely a confirmation.

She raised her arms, put her hands on her head and appeared visibly distressed as she watched the action unfold.

In other words, she looked exactly like every college football fan who has ever watched their team’s supposedly comfortable lead disappear before their very eyes.

Of course, she had no idea she was about to become internet famous.

Smith was sitting among Ole Miss supporters, apparently cheering for the Rebels, when the ESPN camera found her in the crowd.

It didn’t take long for social media sleuths to start doing what social media sleuths do best: identifying strangers.

The X account Campus Cuties publicly identified the woman as Smith and subsequently shared a photo of her in a blue bikini, adding another layer to the unexpected viral moment.

An Instagram account believed to belong to Smith is private, though its bio reportedly identifies her as an Ole Miss alum from Knoxville.

As of Tuesday, Smith had not publicly addressed her sudden internet fame.

Frankly, it’s probably for the best. After all, she was just trying to survive an Ole Miss football game.

On the Tuesday, September 8 episode of ABC’s Good Morning America, Lindsay Clancy’s attorney made a surprising plea.

Kevin Reddington sat down for an interview with George Stephanopoulos in the wake of his client’s mistrial last week.

“Mr. President,” he said during the talk, “I would hope that you would consider this young lady and the person she is, what she’s been through.”

Reddington continued: “And consider a pardon.”

A pardon is a use of executive clemency that, in this case, allows a sitting President to wipe away a federal conviction — even preemptively.

We’ll get into why this is such a surprising request in a moment.

As a reminder, prosecutors have charged Clancy with three counts of murder.

She allegedly strangled her 3 young children before attempting to die by suicide by jumping out a window, only to end up paralyzed.

This is an obvious case of post-partum psychosis, a are but dangerous after-effect of childbirth. The prosecution has (absurdly) claimed that Clancy was in full control of her actions before and during the murder.

The Clancy trial has ignited a bizarre culture war, with certain conservative factions of the internet attempting to spin this family tragedy into some vague and difficult-to-define conspiracy in which women and doctors have conjured up a fake mental illness as a get-out-of-motherhood-free-card.

Why is a pardon such a strange ask in this case?

Attorneys who have any amount of national attention might often ask for a pardon.

After all, there’s no anti-pardon. Officially, presidents and governors do not have the power to go “actually, I order a conviction.”

While it’s clear that Kevin Reddington is reasoning that you miss 100% of the shots that you don’t take, it’s unclear how this would benefit Lindsay Clancy.

Clancy is facing state charges. A Trump pardon, if she received one, would only impact charges at the federal level … of which there are none.

If Reddington is playing whatever-dimensional chess with some broad PR or legal strategy, we’re unsure what it is.

Trump has made broad, unorthodox, and brazenly corrupt use of executive clemency over the past couple of years.

From pardoning reality TV criminals to January 6th insurrectionists who attacked America to random other awful people, a clear pattern has emerged.

Trump is offering pardons to his allies, but also to people who have made massive donations to him.

Clancy is paralyzed and uses a wheelchair. The next time that Trump calls for insurgents to murder members of congress, it’s unclear of what help she could be. Similarly, it’s unclear if she could meet his price — if, again, he had any clemency powers that could benefit her directly.

Prosecutors should really not have brought this case to trial, and instead offered a deal that acknowledges Clancy’s mental state at the time. If prosecutors insist upon bringing this case to trial again, perhaps Clancy’s attorney will as for a pardon at the state level, instead.

Sydney Sweeney is one of the most popular actresses on the planet.

But it seems that her attempt to parlay that fame into a second career as a fashion mogul has not gone according to plan.

Clearly inspired by Skims, the brand that helped make Kim Kardashian a billionaire, Sydney’s SYRN lingerie line launched in January with the founder and CEO also serving as the company’s top model.

But eight months after its debut, SYRN is reportedly enduring a major sales slump.

“It’s been a disaster,” an insider tells Radar Online.

“They thought it would be a sellout based on Sydney’s brand, but clearly her saleability is waning rapidly.”

The problem, according to some industry analysts, is that Sydney basically took the opposite of Kim’s approach.

While Skims prides itself on offering items for all shapes and, SYRN’s ad campaigns often feel as though they’re centered on the sexiness of the brand’s founder.

“SYRN’s branding feels exclusionary,” states a review on The Robin Report.

“It does not invite women in; it asks them to emulate and fawn over the founder. And the inconsistency between the brand’s intention and execution is a threat to its long-term viability.”

The review goes on to allege that the brand’s Sydney-centric ad campaigns have been off-putting to potential customers.

“The brand ultimately remains centered on one figure: Sydney Sweeney. It’s as if the underwear is not actually the product; Sweeney’s body is,” it reads.

Sydney has noted on several occasions that SYRN offers a wide array of sizes.

But while Skims and Rihanna’s Fenty brand make a point of showcasing models with different body types, SYRN ads do tend to keep the focus on Sydney herself.

It makes sense that the company’s marketing team would choose to go in that direction.

After all, Sydney has a massive following online, and she knows what her audience likes.

But while Sydney certainly has no problem attracting the internet’s attention, there’s a big difference between appealing to horny dudes online and selling lingerie to a mostly female customer base.

And the gap between those demographics is often reflected in the comments on Sydney’s SYRN posts:

“This is so sexy, yet it doesn’t appeal to me because this is shot from a male gaze. I think lingerie should be shot from a female gaze because at the end of the day, the girl needs to feel sexy,” wrote one commenter.
